TRAINING IS A LIFE & DEATH DECISION FOR YOU!
WHEN CHOOSING SOMEONE TO AVOIDANCE
TRAIN YOUR DOG, CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

Partners Snake Proofing is operated by professional full time instructors from a world renowned school with more than 30 years of experience. Sessions are run by three instructors working as a team to create the best possible association, evaluation and result possible.

We use a system carefully developed over thousands of times. NO other school can duplicate what we do.

Partners trains more dogs annually, than almost EVERY other trainer has ever worked with.

We do NOT injure our snakes by defanging them. We use special cages that protect the dogs from actual contact.

MYTHS ABOUT SNAKE AVOIDANCE TRAINING

Note: This is not a criticism of other training methods, just giving you the facts of years of experience, and thousands of dogs successfully trained.

The e-collar is the MOST effective way to condition your dog to have a bad association with a rattlesnake. It does NOT hurt the dog. By all means ask to feel for yourself. The stimulus or "shock" is electronically battery driven, and is not electric as some state. Yes, some dogs yelp, but far more so from the sudden fright they get, than from any pain.

Truth is you want your dog to get a fright, as this makes the training more successful.
Ironically, driving in your car, walking down the street, or using a leash /collar is more likely to hurt a dog, than using an electronic collar.

In 25 years, and about 24,000 dogs trained, I have NEVER had a dog hurt with an electronic collar.

You, the owner, should NOT handle, "cue" or correct your dog during snake avoidance training. The association should be between your dog and the snake ONLY. Every year we evaluate about 200 dogs trained by "professionals" using the owners to handle the dog. Most of these FAIL, when the owner is not present!

You can NOT use water to teach your dog to avoid snakes. Using water as an aversion conditioning process would create a fear of water in your dog.

You can NOT use a clicker to create a positive association with reacting to a snake. That is just NONSENSE and will get your dog killed!

You can NOT use dead snakes, other species of snakes, or snakeskins, to create the association. We have tested dozens of dogs trained this way, and more than half FAIL, which means in real life they would be DEAD!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We welcome anyone that cares enough about their dogs to make the effort to look into snake proofing.
